There are icons on the top ribbon you need to access while driving. Disabling the ribbon except while in park won’t work.

That will cause some wailing and gnashing of teeth in the case of the camera from those who complained about stopping to make the two presses it takes in the current UI. Good news: 1 button press camera! Bad news: you have to be in park! Let’s hope, for the forum’s sake, that it’s speed dependent.

You don't have to be in Park to use the camera button, but you do have to be driving below a certain speed. The button functionality wouldn't change from what it is today. It's just the location of the buttons that would change. The camera button already has. Now we just need the trunk and frunk buttons to do the same. And as a bonus, make it configurable in case some people don't want the buttons there.

I had my car at the dealer for replacement of the HVBJB that failed back on November 19th. I just got the car back yesterday, and immediately realized it had the Sync update. I was lost for a few minutes, but once I had a chance to get used to it, i do like it. The camera button being on the main screen is awesome. I use it a lot, and hated having to go through the menu to get to it in the past.

I use the trunk button at least twice a day at swim practice - wet gear goes in the trunk. By the time I'm in park, hit the car icon, then hit the trunk button (usually twice before it opens) my daughter is already waiting as patiently as a teenager can...which is to say not very.

The biggest mystery to me is why we have TWO physical buttons to change the screen brightness but not to open the trunk. Mind blowing.

Yeah, as I said that will keep the wails down a bit. Configurable would be nice. It I’m not sure how doable that might be. I prefer clean and minimalist UIs myself, and the new ui seems to be trending away from that imo.

As for a Frunk button for job 1 cars, I’ve been told it’s not coming in the initial release of the new ui update. I have an opinion as to whether it’s coming at all, but it’s just that.

Yep, tested it today. The camera becomes available (lights up for use) at the 5 MPH mark or below.

You may want to look at the pic again. Camera button is just lower on the screen. And yes, it has the 360 view. Many changes to the layout have come to the big screen for 23 Cheers.

Mine has it on the top all the time. Mine recently got updated at the dealership. It's a 2022. I hope it is the newer version and doesn't go away. I like it like that.
