Hey y'all!

I've been trying my damndest to get the Driver Status Monitor Camera programmed (not replaced, just saw it had an update,) and haven't been able to get it to pass... I'm using FDRS with a DrivePro (same company that makes the Mongoose, this is just built into the scantool.)

First thing, it takes 900000000000 years to program. Even a half-decent maintainer couldn't keep up, so I had to bring out the big guns. It's been failing at different times throughout the programing, but not really presenting a fault. A couple times it has "lost comms with VCI," even though it's clearly still communicating. Other times, it just fails. I've checked through CMDTC's, but nothing is present that would cause a miscommunication or software failure, i'd think. I do see that the rear view camera is not completing self-tests, but it states that it's because of the software failing.

Anyone had this issue with this module? I was able to update a few other ones, but this one is being tricky and I want to use BlueCruise!

If you think it's failing, hedge your bets and disable the auto-shutdown timer while programming. Also make sure your laptop isn't going to sleep during programming.

I see you're using Remote Desktop, that may potentially interfere as well by redirecting inputs/outputs.

Also I can't see where negative is clipped, but I sure hope it's not on the negative battery terminal...

AH! I never thought of the auto-shutdown... i'm going to try and cycle the door every few minutes, because I can't set it during programming.

It is a remote desktop and running through a server, but my Latency seems okay, so I think that's okay to go through.

Negative is on the ground stud, which I figured was fine since that's where the battery grounds and isn't the battery... but moved it to another chassis ground.

Disable auto shutdown on the screen before hitting OK after it tells you to turn the car on.

I wouldn't recommend opening or closing the door during programming (unless it tells you to) because that could affect some things. The professionals open the door and slip the latch closed so they can get in and out while it thinks the door is closed. Just don't forget and slam the door closed. Put a piece of tape on the striker or something as a reminder.

Negative ground body stud is perfectly fine. Anywhere but the negative battery terminal so the current sensor isn't bypassed.

Yeah, I usually roll my latches as well. That way I can have access, just in case something happens and there is a dead car on my hands!

I guess I shall painstakingly wait for this to finish or fail...

Damn, that’s a keen eye. What made you look that closely.

I notice things most other people don't, that's just me. I saw the double row of icons on the bottom.
TeamViewer will give me away every time ?

UPDATE: after an hour and a half, the update completed! Finally had BlueCruise back ?

about an hour after finishing, I had the software release notes pop up, but didn’t get a chance to read them. Need to check this morning if it updated the number or not, I’m curious!
