Let's just say that all-season tires are still a problem. But at this rate, they won't be a problem for much longer.

There was probably a little more in it, but I still ended up with 5th in PAX of 30 cars. So pretty happy about that. Still have my rear sway bar to install (and just got a set of QuickJacks to hopefully make that easier soon). It was getting pretty twitchy coming out of slower corners.

Fun stuff! The rear aftermarket bar is going to make it want to oversteer more. Do you have a front aftermarket bar already in it? Maybe play with tire pressures to tune? Decamber the rear a little? ??

Ya, I actually have hesitated putting the rear bar on for that reason. No new front bar. I'm only allowed one bar replacement to stay in the same class - so I may have to decide between one or the other. Tires are honestly the biggest factor still - so I may replace the tires and THEN make the decision on the bar based on what they do for it.

I definitely need to play a little more with tire pressures. I have to go up around 48-ish psi just to keep them from rolling over too much at the moment but I haven't gotten too granular yet with marking the sidewalls between runs.

If Autox in Cali is anything like Autocross in the Pacific Northwest then its really just WWE. It's fixed, AKA not real. Outcome is pre-determined. They are all cheaters. Tell 'em I said Holler at ya boy.

We’ve always used the front bar to set the roll attitude and the rear to tune it. I would go with just a front aftermarket bar, decamber the front, and play with pressures to tune. If your class allows spring changes, I would consider that. ??

Looks fun!

What drive mode did you end up using? Would be curious how unbridled vs unbridled extend would work on such a short course.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I wish I had your guts, and a GT PE instead of a Premium RWD!

Funny enough I had some issues with the drive modes at that event. I did the first event a few weeks ago in Extended and it seemed to go well enough. For some reason on Saturday it only let me put it in Extended for my first run and then switched itself off and went back to Engage. Looking at the video, there weren't any errors or anything that came up, other than a basic message on the main screen about the drive mode changing to ensure performance or something like that.

Honestly, it's still good just in Unbridled, as long as you turn traction control all the way off. None of the autox courses I'd run would ever max out the full throttle limits anyway, so Extended probably isn't really necessary.

Yeah there are a lot of prerequisites to go into unbridled extend.

Which is kinda ironic since that mode limits power.

If not really going full throttle, extend might be ideal for a course like that though.

Finally some who chalks sidewalls to make sure entire tread width is being used.

Hah, ya. First few times was easy to get a baseline, since the tires were still new. But how that the shoulders are wearing, I'll definitely need to start marking a bit and see where it ends up.

You don't need a GT to have fun. That RWD would probably be a blast too.

Be careful with what you post online regarding autocross, etc. If something fails with the car, then Ford can claim you are abusing the car. That happened to a friend of mine with his WRX and Subaru denied the warranty.

What was the claim though and how did Subaru find out?

My guess is they could see evidence of how your friend races the car and broke something that led to an investigation. But even so, how would they dig deep enough to pull your IP address and web history? You would need a warrant for that kinda thing and they don’t have the time, money or resources for that kinda stuff.

If I were him I would have just showed Subaru one of their TV commercials and say “I was just driving the car the way you told me to!” ?
