  1. Back camera recall

Has anyone heard any updates on this recall?
  2. New Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection Advice Request

Thanks for the reply. This dealership is in rural south east so thought the situation would be similar. I’m debating the situation in my mind if I should move on or get it. If they fix the issues I still think the value is there for me esp given the warranty would be in full effect. This was a...
  3. New Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection Advice Request

So, I visited the dealer today and got a chance to see the vehicle. Very glad I did… Several issues with the vehicle which wasn’t properly represented in my communications with them prior to placing a deposit. I say this because I was told the vehicle was completely new and had no damage...
  4. New Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection Advice Request

Appreciate the feedback. This vehicle is about 7 hours from where I live which is why I'm just now getting a chance to see it. So, it will be serviced by a separate dealership.
  5. New Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection Advice Request

Thanks. This visit is to look at the vehicle--I know they cannot sell it to me, but I have not seen the vehicle in person.
  6. New Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection Advice Request

Is there a way to check to see how the HV battery was charged? Do you think a dealer would go ahead and swap the 12v battery just because it is 2 years old? The vehicle would come with the full warranty even though it is a 23... Does that make you wary I'd run into issues?
  7. New Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection Advice Request

In June I placed a deposit down on a *new* 2023 MME Premium AWD that has been on a dealer lot. I travel a fair bit for my job and this week will be close to the dealership that I am going to go visit the vehicle. Given the two outstanding recalls (the backup camera one I was aware of when I...
  8. Back camera recall

Guessing I already know the answer, but has anyone heard any updates on this specific recall?
  9. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

I believe that salt water accelerates the chemical reaction which is different than fresh water.
  10. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

I agree that a sprinkler would not put it out, however I wonder if it would help prevent spread from the garage to the rest of the house?
  11. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

I believe this is a myth as this is really the best suppression technique first responders use in an EV fire. There is confusion about Li fires getting worse with water, but my understanding is that is with Li metal, whereas these batters are not made of Li metal. Water is used on these...
  12. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

I appreciate your feedback here. One comment I'll remind is that I was looking for 'reasonable' safety mitigation tips. But I agree with you that a fire blanket probably isn't reasonable for a non-professional because it would be too dangerous to use in a garage. Please understand that I'm...
  13. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

That's pretty interesting, thanks for sharing. Isn't cheap, but if it prevents fire spread to the rest of the house, etc, small price to pay to protect family and house. At least prevent spread until responders can get there and decide what to do. That said, my only concern is deploying it in...
  14. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

Camera is probably a good idea, thanks.
  15. Tips or thoughts on fire mitigation strategies

Yeah, it isn't required in SC. I thought about this if only to help reduce the spread to the rest of the house. Did you add that when you got EV or did you have it in your house already?
