Yes, I've had issues like this from time to time. It's very frustrating because it works 98% of the time, but when you absolutely need it to work, you can't count on it.
I had this issue. See this thread: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/clunking-clicking-when-pressing-and-releasing-the-accelerator.39265/#post-870557
Here's why I wished the Mach-E and Lightning had real-time video recording: https://www.youtube.com/@WhamBaamTeslacam. I watch even though I don't own a Tesla, but proves the value of having cameras.
We have both. Love both. Which I drive depends upon what my mood is. If I have the need for speed, I drive my MachE GT. If I'm feeling big and bad and want to dominate the road, I drive the Lightning. Of course having the truck bed comes in handy when I'm working on home projects.
I couldn't agree more about adding ad-hoc preconditioning. I can't imagine that this would be hard to do. It would be so much more convenient than having to set up a one-time schedule.
I had a noise coming from the back of my Mach-E. First dealer said it was normal. Took the car to a second dealer said it was NOT normal, and found the problem (loose motor/suspension bolts). You have to be very persistent in order to get these kinds of problems resolved.
After a second trip to the original dealer, they came back and said that the noise was breaking-related. They found a service advisory and did some break work. It did not resolve the noise issue, afterward saying that the noise is normal. When I balked, they invited me to take the car to...
My dealership's first reation was also that it's break related. They still want to diagnose my MME like it's an ICE vehicle. I think that the problem is more likely drive-train related. I'm taking it back later this week.
