I have the same issue regardless of whether the system is in auto or manual mode. I can hear the compressor running even when no dew is present and the weather is cool. The way it operates must have changed with one of the software updates. I used to be able to shut it off, and it would remain off.
If you have Alexa enabled on your car, you can ask it to route you to a destination, which will pass the destination to the Ford navigation system. I've found that Alexa has more POIs than the Ford nav.

Reset your 12V battery learned values to ensure the battery is fully recharged while driving.
