  1. UPDATE: Fixed - walk-up unlock will NOT stay running. edit: support URL available

Might be the newer SYNC software versions, then. My SYNC has not been updated since 2022. The phone app seems to work fine, at least for some of us.
  2. UPDATE: Fixed - walk-up unlock will NOT stay running. edit: support URL available

Same. 6.8.0. My car has not been updated in over three years. I avoid a lot of software bugs that way.
  3. UPDATE: Fixed - walk-up unlock will NOT stay running. edit: support URL available

I use a P8P, and walk-up unlock has been rock-solid for years. No issues lately. '21 Mach-E. Maybe the newer cars have a new problem? Or maybe it's unrelated to the phone?
  4. ‘Shockingly bad’: Nissan Leaf drivers voice anger over app shutdown

Nonsense. Government is an institution, not a person. It is incapable of caring, or any human emotion. No government has ever "cared" about its people. Government can possibly be effective. It can sometimes obey the will of (most of) the people. But it can never care.
  5. BMW i3 EV debuts with 440 miles range, 463 hp / 476 lb-ft

In what way? 400kW? "Symbiosis Drive"? "6th Generation eDrive" with improved efficiency, density, and range (perhaps it's night and day compared to the crappy old 5th Generation eDrive)? I don't see anything in the posted specs that I care about, but I certainly could have missed it buried...
  6. ‘Shockingly bad’: Nissan Leaf drivers voice anger over app shutdown

Good one! You could count such places on the fingers of no hands.
  7. Honda kills EV development in the US

I'm seeing the following losses/writedowns reported in the last few months for EV operations: Honda - $15.8 Billion GM - $7.6 Billion Ford - $19.5 Billion Stellantis - $26.6 Billion ~$70 Billion from these four companies alone. I didn't look into the details, accuracy, or timeframes for these...
  8. Honda kills EV development in the US

Honda WAS building their Zero Series EVs in the US. Ohio.
  9. FORD EARLY ACCESS PROGRAM email

What kind of bug emergency can a five year old car have?
  10. Re: Ford CEO Admits Its EV Strategy Failed. Here’s the Company’s New Plan

Toyota is a $300 Billion car company. There is absolutely no chance that this idea did not occur to them. Toyota considered doing something like this, and decided to wait until the time is right. So far, they are looking smarter than Ford and GM.
  11. Got my first Mach E

First? In nearly 50 years of car owning, I have never had a second of any model. I guess some people do that ... Drive it in good health!
  12. New 2026 BMW iX3 (summer 2026 release date) test drive reviews are in

Yes, when I said "I've seen uglier", this was pretty much what I had in mind!
  13. STONE DEAD NOW COSTING OVER 1k to fix

I never do. And if I did, I would authorize them to simply bust a window if needed. And of course any sane parent would not even need my authorization. Remember that for years, thousands of Mach-E owners drove young and elderly passengers daily -- before this recall/software was ever...
  14. STONE DEAD NOW COSTING OVER 1k to fix

I read it, confirm that it is not important, and then ignore it. For example, my latest recall is important only for drivers who are in danger of accidentally locking a baby in the car, and are unwilling to break a window if necessary. My youngest is 20, and I have zero need for this. The...
  15. STONE DEAD NOW COSTING OVER 1k to fix

So, you are not able to point to a single example of unapplied updates ever causing such battery draw problems. It just "sounds like" that might happen. I have run a stable software version since 2022. My HVBJB failed in 2023, and was replaced with no issues whatsoever. No battery problems...
  16. STONE DEAD NOW COSTING OVER 1k to fix

Is there any example in the history of the Mach-E where such behavior has been shown to be caused by "not installing updates"? I am not aware of any. I have not installed updates in well over three years, and have never had such problems with my car.
  17. Re: Ford CEO Admits Its EV Strategy Failed. Here’s the Company’s New Plan

This is all very old news, right? Ford has been losing billions on EVs for years, and long ago announced its dubious plans to make cheaper EVs. I do think their strategic planning has been abysmal, and probably remains abysmal even now. Ford doesn't seem to appreciate the impact and...
  18. Hands-Free Driving Systems Confuse Drivers, but Carmakers Push for More NHTSA investigates Ford’s product after deadly crashes...

You seem to think I am criticizing BlueCruise, when I am doing no such thing. My only point, in a comment to a previous poster, was that Ford and Tesla use largely the same driver monitoring approach. I have zero problem with either Ford's or Tesla's implementation of hand monitoring and eye...
  19. Hands-Free Driving Systems Confuse Drivers, but Carmakers Push for More NHTSA investigates Ford’s product after deadly crashes...

You will not see the point unless you read the post to which I was responding. I am not making any point about what the system should or should not do. I am pointing out to a previous poster that the Tesla feature he found uniquely evil is in fact not uniquely evil -- it is just like Ford's...
