  1. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

Not a brochure, but stay tuned...I've got a rough draft submitted for my workplace blog. Highlighting the benefits of remote work (I was working during Omen's freeflight trip, only took off driving days)
  2. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

Yes, you are missing out...on having a flying toddler with built in wirecutters/boltcutters for the next 40-70 years (depending on species). They take a lot of attention and work, definitely not for everyone.
  3. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

    He likes the Mach-E.
  4. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

No, he's a real and actual parrot. Proof:
  5. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

Pierre Ford in Lake City. They had a few other Mach-Es, one was a RR ER AWD Premium. Worth giving them a call, they were remarkably laid back and low pressure. I enjoyed my experience there, which was weird. Maybe it's just because they all loved meeting my parrot.
  6. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

Who needs chargers as long as you can make it to the top of the pass? :P
  7. My car just told me I looked tired

I wouldn't touch a Nestle product if you paid me at this point. Seriously...&%^$ them and &$^% their CEO. https://www.zmescience.com/science/nestle-company-pollution-children/ an excerpt for the lazy: At the second World Water Forum in 2000, Nestle pushed for making access to drinking water...
  8. What is the nickname or will be nickname of your MME?

Kirin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qilin It's an asian lightning dragon unicorn, basically.
  9. Mach-E Owners Registry & Stats [Enter Yours]!

Someone backed out of a First Edition. The dealership called me. Now she's in my driveway, soaking up that sweet sweet 240 from a ClipperCreek. *chefkiss*
  10. PaaK seems to require cellular service

Somewhere in some document somewhere, it says Android 11 is required for wireless android auto and PaaK. I'll try to dig that up. Regardless, my OnePlus 6T on Android 10 REFUSED to become PaaK or connect to Android auto, wired or not. Picked up a Samsung S21 and within 5 minutes everything...
  11. Miles Per KW. Post up what you getting.

~90 miles so far, it's been in the 40F range temp wise, light drizzle (yay PNW!). Climate set to 72, average 3.3mi/kwh in an ER/AWD FE.
  12. Seattle/PNW E-Ride Out

So, I HAD a reservation for a GT...but local dealership had someone back out of a Grabber Blue First Edition...so yeah, I'm ready whenever you are! (In Kent fwiw)
  13. Tire wear / rotation on Mach-E and other EVs

Turn off traction control. EVs are notorious for instantaneous torque. Every EV I've been in can also break its drive wheels loose while going 55 down the highway...just floor the accelerator and the torque jumps up. The only reason I can think why yours didn't is traction control. I can't get...
  14. Tire wear / rotation on Mach-E and other EVs

I am more than usually certain that EVs most certainly can and do break the tires loose. Like...a lot.
  15. Tire wear / rotation on Mach-E and other EVs

So, let's say that your tire is spinning 1000 revolutions per minute as you're cruising down the road (speed being irrelevant at this point, just using a nice easy number). At that rate, it is being worn down at a rate also based on the weight of the vehicle and the condition of the road. If you...
  16. A lot of information on Mach-E

The reason Hybrid and EV plates cost more is you are paying less/nothing in gas tax...which keeps up your roads, bridges, and other driving infrastructure. At least, that's supposed to be the reason (I have no idea how honest your local/state politics are regarding the matter, just that that's...
  17. What would make you cancel your Mach-E reservation and buy something else?

While I appreciate the pun, I did clarify that I was using "soul" as a synonym for that "je ne sais quois" (literally French for "I do not know what") that people get from looking at a car that they personally like.
  18. What would make you cancel your Mach-E reservation and buy something else?

For me, the no comparison comes with the "soul" of the vehicle. Kona didn't start life as an EV, it's a pretty classic case of compliance car (not that they didn't nail it...it's probably the best of the compliances I've seen...). Some people probably love the styling of the Kona and are happy...
  19. What would make you cancel your Mach-E reservation and buy something else?

I drove a Jaguar I-Pace just the other day because I was curious. The last BEV I drove was a 2013(ish?) Nissan Leaf, and that was just some in city stuff with my former partner's wife. The I-pace I drove has a LOT of bells and whistles...but the salesperson told me it has "Like 3000 torque...
  20. Anyone else get the "Nice Choice!" email from Ford? SYNC 4A name revealed.

Working as a platform architect, I don't have to imagine. It's not that it's that difficult (in the way that framing a house isn't that difficult...if it's what you do and you understand it, etc), it's that outsourcing tends to be cheaper for a reason. I've never seen a website/API/application...
