This is our second winter daily driving the Mach E--Fairbanks, AK, so you know it's a legit winter. The car's handled the recent -45 cold snap like a champ, and it does very well in snow and ice.
Our tires are Michelin X-Ice studless winter tires. I've driven in AK winters for thirty years, and...
I just went and found that video. Of course he's leaving out some factors--you can't thoroughly explain motion dynamics in a 10 minute video, so he simplifies it. It's also specific to EVs, despite his (I agree, misguided) point at the end about aggregate US CO2 emissions. As for the range...
LMAO. Of course you do. He uses science and complicated words.
As for our Mach-E, in the winter, it gets plugged in every day. In the summer, I keep it between 50%-90% unless we're going on a trip.
I had a similar issue with the app a few weeks ago. Fix for me was uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Worked immediately.

There's an induction loop that opens the gate from the inside of our parking lot at work, and another one at Fairbanks Airport--they have no issues picking up the Mach E, even under a few inches of packed snow. Fairbanks has gone away from induction loops for traffic signals, so I can't speak to...
It also says that the Federal Government is responsible for the "general welfare," among other things. I would argue that citizens being able to breathe is pretty important to their general welfare.
You know what else isn't specifically in the Constitution, Huffman? The Air Force. In any event, this has nothing to do with the EPA--CAFE is part of USDOT.
As for this WSJ op-ed, it's an obvious attempt at an EV hit-job. The multiplier is clearly intended to further incentivize the adoption of...
Not OP, but our dash readout in Fairbanks when we get to -40 or below hovers about 120 miles. Never pushed it that far because it recharges every night at home.
I used the app to start the car the other day, and since then, the app always shows the car as running, but it isn't. It won't let me shut it off, and when I "add 15 min," it claims success, but the car remains off. It's been about a week. Other features of the app (locking, tracking state of...
In Fairbanks the heated seats, wheel and e-heat come on in October and stay on until May. Range drops from ~300 miles to about ~120, and that's with preconditioning and plugged in as often as possible.
Still, I've been daily driving this thing since we got it, and that won't change. Not a good...
I hadn't considered that there were differences--that could explain it for sure. I don't recall seeing anything over 150 kW on the screen when charging, FWIW.
Normally we wouldn't be trying to push the charge to maximum, but we were doing a lot of driving on this trip and couldn't charge "at...
Well I'm certainly glad my personal experience spawned such a vigorous debate LOL.
In response to a couple comments about me:
I'm not an old dog who can't learn new tricks. I quite enjoy 95% of the tech in the Mach E, including PAAK. But learning new tricks simply for the sake of them being...
Most of them sure--I acknowledged as much and will do so again. For a one-week rental (we had reserved an Ioniq5, but it was unavailable), I didn't want to spend that much time picking it up. But most of these differences seem like they're different for the sake of being different, rather than...
Right now we just have the Mach-E Premium--and a Focus, Escort and F-350. The Escort is just for emergencies, and the truck is only used a few times a year. Out hope is to replace the Focus in another year or so with a second EV; or possibly to replace it and the F-350 with a Lightning. We'll...
Just got home from a trip in Colorado, where we rented a Tesla Y for a week. We've been driving our Mach-E for 18 months now, winter and summer, and I wanted to leave my thoughts on the contrasts between the two similar vehicles.
The Tesla sucks. Really.
Yes, it was a rental, and yes there are...
