One option to store this: Take picture and put it on your phone. You can then Search your photos for “KeyPad” or “code”, and it will find it. Be sure you take the picture of the correct side, I did the one above, then realized it was for the wrong country…
So after deleting my PAAK, then re-adding it, all is working. It’s clear now (after I added a backup start passcode again), that my previously entered code was wiped, probably by a software update/dealer uodate. Will go back to using PAAK, will keep a backup for now, and will check after each...
For those of you that have a backup start passcode set, what does your screen look like in settings? In settings, Vehicle -> Backup Start Passcode, if I click backup start passcode, it acts like it’s never been setup before, and wants me to get a phone and a fob. Is that how it looks even AFTER...
No backup password prompt., repeated your steps verbatim. Left phone in 100% airplane mode. When you go into settings, are you able to tell if a backup passcode is set? I believe mine was wiped when I went to the dealer, in settings (Vehicle->Backup Start Passcode) it just says: To create a...
I will try this today. But in my case, phone was not dead, and was communicating with BT, so I was able to open the car with the phone and roll windows down, etc.
Windows up/down worked, remote start allowed me access to the screens and such in a limited manner. PAAK working today, but grabbed the fob for obvious reasons! When it fails, the BT connections are all the same as when it works. Same list of connected connections. Appears the backup start...
So, went to pickup the car. Left the fob in my friend's car, walked over, car woke up, and I was able to start the car with my phone, and fob 1 parking space over inside another car, so I think it was my phone that started the car. Got home, parked, took fob inside, "No key detected". When...
I also tried rebooting Sync using the two buttons on the steering wheel for 10 seconds trick, however, when the car is stopped, that now takes you to a debugging/diagnostics screen, which again, did not display the Backup Start Passcode prompt.
Correct, never got the passcode prompt. Pressed it over and over, pressed it long, pressed it short, etc. Was able to "start" the car using the Remote Ford Pass app, was able to get CarPlay working, was able to listen to the radio, etc, tried exiting the vehicle, letting it shutdown, then...
I checked the PAAK in the Ford Pass app and it is still there. Maybe, the Backup start code was wiped when they did the Software Update on Monday, and so it wouldn't prompt if it's not there?
Sort of defeats the purpose, not really using the phone as a key at that point. Plus, if someone breaks in, free car! I guess if you hide the key far enough away in the back, it might not allow the car to start?
Well, stranded last night by PAAK. So, I walk up to the car, does not recognize me, fine, happens, open the phone, open the app, Ford Pass Says BT connected, I unlock the car, try to Start "Key not Detected". Okay, I will kill the Ford Pass app, restart the phone, nothing works. All BT...
Shocking!! 1.5 hours after I was told “Could be up to 13 hours to install this update!” I was then told my car was ready. So far, so good, BC works, no camera faults, I’ll test on interstate shortly.
