  1. Real World Range

Oh, and the car FREAKS OUT over donner pass and screams about how I'm never going to make my destination. Then I go over the pass and it's like .... dude.... no problem.... as it gets a nice charge going down to reno. The first time I believed the car and topped off at an EA up at Truckee. Then...
  2. Ford App 6.15.0 - Charging Info Not Displayed

Regarding the privacy issue - I got a note from the CPPA (California Privacy Protection Agency) on June 8th regarding my CPPA complaint against Ford. My complaint is that Ford is tying an unrelated feature (setting charge limits) to accepting privacy terms (giving away fine grained driving...
  3. Real World Range

Yes, 250 is easily achievable. I drive from my house in the SF bay area, to reno Nevada, a few times. It's also almost exactly 250 miles - 248, according to google, to the Tesla charge I use. It's a substantial net elevation gain going (which I get back on return): 4000 ft. According to a...
  4. Ford Really Wants Your Driving Data

I would like to propose this exact form of "tying" an unrelated feature to a privacy approval is illegal under california law. Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100(c) . "Data Minimization" specifically prohibits it. If you are a California resident, the correct action is to file a complaint. Anyone...
  5. App Privacy Settings wrong

I'd like pointers to where this exact issue was discussed. I'm having trouble finding it. I'd especially like to see if Ford corporate has defended "share driving data is required for connected operation".
  6. App Privacy Settings wrong

I think you might want to check california (and federal) before making such a statement. Under California law, It is illegal to tie *unrelated* data use to the ability to use a product feature. Repeat: It is *NOT* legal to tie data exchange to a feature with little in common with the feature...
  7. Charging with dryer plug?

First, a 30a rated 100 ft rv cord is probably 10 awg. This is on the edge of ok with a 24a continuous load. It it's much more reasonable to source an 8 AWG cord. Alternatly just run lower amps. You will already need a "charger" with settable amps. Get one that will allow you to run at 16a 240...
  8. Very cool solution to long charge times.

What's crazier is china has two competing companies. One is pursuing faster charging cars and faster charge stations. They're introducing more battery chemistry, generally at smaller capacity, and charging stations to handle them - getting charges down to 5 minutes. Another pursues...
  9. App Privacy Settings wrong

Apologies if this has been covered before It appears remotely setting charge percentage through the app requires "share driving data" setting. I happen to have been, in the past, professionally involved with data privacy, both at Facebook and as a technology vendor to adtech companies. It is...
  10. Am I Cooked? Advice needed 21 Premium RWD

To sum up your post: * I didn't know enough to ask if software was current * I'm really seriously hung up on $100 * My dealer is awful Did I miss anything?
  11. BEV Batteries Last A Long Time (Ford Authority Post)

It's a very low quality article, but it does have a paragraph saying there are few replacements at all, as well as most replacements are early. The underlying methodology is pretty lame too, cars with old age range issues could be past warantee and suffering in peace.
  12. Tesla charge adapter

I didn't see anyone say this clearly. Admittadly i didn't scroll to the end. There are two adapters. One for ac, one for dc. There is no single adapter that does both (can't be, the way the standard works). Ac is level 2, 240v, 3 kw to about 9 kw, aka destination charger but also if you went...
  13. NACS to CCS1 Adapter with Extension Cable!

By what mechanism would a cable limit charge speed instead of shut down charge (too hot)? Is the cable long enough to use a supercharger on the "correct" side? My problem with busy stations is waiting for a stall i can pull into, so i pick ones that are nearly empty. Of course if there is...
  14. Seattle to Dallas

The only reason to drive instead of flying is because you enjoy a drive. If you enjoy a drive, how many miles per day do you find enjoyable? What kind of lunch do you like? A quick routing with ABRP for me says 40 hours total with 6 hrs charging, which is around the usual nominal 15% time...
  15. Farley: Ford EVs shockingly behind Tesla & China, but Ford can't afford to "walk away from EVs."

This is an excellent example of a feature that should be solved by software! OTA for steering wheel size choice! That's what the market wants.... what's holding back engineering?????
  16. Farley: Ford EVs shockingly behind Tesla & China, but Ford can't afford to "walk away from EVs."

This "tesla just works" was so not my experience. I had long term loan of a friend's tesla before I went EV, and it was actually after dropping them at the airport that it took an update that caused the "phantom braking". Before you say "everything with sensors does that sometimes".... it was...
  17. Recall 25S65 OTA Update Rolling Out

Danged, just this morning dealer mobile service installed. I mean it was free and easy but OTA is easier.
  18. Tesla Supercharger station availability now shows in Google Maps & Apple Maps

We've put a thread together about Ford Native Nav, and Google Maps, and Apple Maps. Given how different the roll outs have been.... it'll confuse....
  19. Set Departure Times Pros and Cons

One question one thought. one idea question: NMC or LFP? The effect of cold is supposedly greater with LFP. thought: heated garage? I understand if you can keep your battery closer to 70 than 40 going out for an hour drive is helpful. After all, pulling power out of the battery warms it (just...
  20. Adaptive cruise control can't handle lane-splitting motorcycles

I experience the same thing. I figure that's because the mapping of the road stops. BC turns off substantially before it would normally sense anything, I guess, and where it shuts off and where it shuts off doesn't change.
