We've put a thread together about Ford Native Nav, and Google Maps, and Apple Maps.Alright, guess we can’t have good things, because this morning this feature does not work anymore. Why you do this to us @Ford Motor Company? Tesla chargers are and have been for the last handful years, open to all in Europe. Can you PLEASE adhere to this? It should not feel like my navigation and charge experience is degraded over time as a Ford owner. This worked until 2024, but you removed it for whole of Europe when America got access to some chargers in US.
I drove by a few sites today and Google was within 1 or 2 of being correct (visual check, not the Tesla app). Except there is an issue at Magic dock sites, Google doubles the number of chargers, because each pedestal has NACS and CCS. The 16 stall Magic Dock site I drove by showed 32 total, rather than the real 16.At least in the Bay Area, for a handful of superchargers around here that I spot-checked against the Tesla app, both the available and the total number of chargers were wrong in Google Maps (+/- 5-10, so it’s at least directionally correct, but even a 5-10 minute lag doesn’t account for the inaccuracy) and my Apple Maps isn’t showing either number (I’m on iOS 26.0.1).
Weird that they even got total chargers wrong… <grumpy old man voice> software these days </grump>
Will be interesting to see how this is done with multiple states imposing taxes of various amounts. May need to be "price per kWh" plus "taxes' label. That's a great new feature, especially now that we have more chargers than ever to choose from. Hopefully soon we can cross-shop chargers like we do gas stations.
Good timing… Chargeway+ does this and works out the pricing model. Will be interesting to see how this is done with multiple states imposing taxes of various amounts. May need to be "price per kWh" plus "taxes' label.
I'll hit up the charging folks on my end and see if I can get some clarity.Maybe @Ford Motor Company could share some more info on this?
