I would go one of two ways:
1. Get an actual spare tire (eg https://modernspare.com/product/2020-2026-ford-mach-e-spare-tire-kit-options/)
2. Get a roadside assistance membership
Actual spare is expensive and heavy, but it’s a one time cost. Roadside assistance takes a while to come usually...
Okay. So there is, as in all things, an official process for warranty disputes.
Ford participates in the BBB AUTO LINE warranty dispute resolution program. You may contact BBB AUTO LINE by calling 800-955-5100.
From there it depends on the state you live in, but generally they get three tries to...
Interesting. I have Progressive, and their app detected the crash. They sent a tow truck, and I had no issues with the doors or towing.
They called the rental car company who met me at the accident site. We drove back to their office and I drove away.
The estimator saw it the next day at the...
Not every OTA update actually shows up in your log, and based on when you activate your modem and how often you drive it can take a month or two before you get something.
If you have Tesla charging and Stingray Karaoke, you’re basically up to date.
There are folks on here that can tell you if...
I’ve not but there are a few different known problems depending on your model year:
There are TSBs for 21-24 regarding the front springs, and all MME can exhibit a grinding sound from the brakes because they don’t get much use and don’t have a wiping feature.
2021 models do have a TSB for the...
The dealer locator used to have a category, but Ford ended that program last year. I just search for dealers that have a lot of EVs in stock and then ask their service coordinator if they have an EV specialist. Usually if there is a fast charger on site they are an EV dealer.
Almost forgot: The APIM will have to be completely reset, so you’ll lose all your PaaK and profiles - then have to set it all up again like it’s a new car.
There is a TSB about it - SYNC4 General Performance. Basically you need to take it to the dealer and they need to update the APIM module manually.
(Take note: make sure they have an EV specialist. You can’t just update the normal way (FDRS) to fix it. They have to download the update to a USB...
There are better tires out there - I’ve been eyeballing the kind with noise reduction. At 39psi every bump sounds like a basketball. NR tires add sound deadening material inside the tire. Don’t know if it works, but I like the idea.
You can replace only two, IMHO. Only reason to do four is...
That looks like either too much positive camber or low tire pressure. You have much more wear on the outside than the inside.
Right now that tire is unsafe when it’s raining. You might get some more time if you move to negative camber, but as is that tire is unsafe in the rain.
I’d replace at...
I would do all four, and then may I make a couple suggestions:
• Rotate your tires every 8-10 thousand miles
• Go easier on the accelerator. Lots of torque is fun but it’s hard on tires.
I also have a RWD Premium at 30,000 miles and the tires are in great shape - even wear and about 1/4” of...
FordPass, Ford PublicCharging or PlugShare will show you reliability, availability, and the price up front in a single app.
ABRP will also show you, can be set to prefer networks you get an better price at, and with ABRP Plus you can even have it customize your stops to ensure you have a...
I was gonna say. Even the Ford Public Charging app says to stay away from those chargers (it uses PlugShare for its data, apparently.)
Public EV charging *is* expensive, between $4 and $5/gal equivalent if you don’t have a membership. With a Tesla membership you can get to around $.30-.35/kWh...
I used to be involved in pricing at GM, and we had much debate about how to price features.
Basically, any feature on a vehicle has a failure rate and a warranty repair cost. OEMs must set aside monies to cover those costs, and cannot realize that income until the warranty expires.
Performance...
I can’t tell you what anyone else paid, but I would look at peer cars… A Model Y LR Performance is a nearly identical vehicle as far as specs go. IMHO, whatever you can get one of those for in your region (with incentives) should be your baseline price for the MME GTPE.
You may want to get...
How old is your 12v battery? If it’s 3 years, you may want to replace it.
Otherwise, I’d visit a larger EV certified dealer. They can pull the diagnostic codes, check the components and update the module firmware as needed.
