Mine is 26, which if I look at the dates, equals the number of days from "in Production" to "ETA end date". So number of days from when it's built until it arrives at the dealer.

This is all empirical - I have no idea if that's actually what it means.
I have a Transit date of 01, my guess how long it takes to be trucked from the rail line in Avon Lake as palsapp shows as the origin, my California Route 1 was built December 17th and is still sitting at plant in Mexico

My theory is that it represents the days between the "Awaiting Shipment" state and the final "Shipped" state.

I have a Transit Date of "01".

Only rationale I have is that I received a "Built" email on Jan 22 (which correlates to Awaiting Shipment), and on Jan 23, I received a "Shipped" email.
if that were to be the case numbers like 33 or 40 dont add up. They are not waiting that long between built and ship status

Yeah again that was my first thought, but ultimately it's anyone's guess at this point.

My dealer stock car was built on October 28th and didn't ship until February 25th and the transit date is 16, so you're right it doesn't add up but wrong they're not waiting that long to ship

I suspect it has something to do with the order sequencing that dealers can do and is some kind of priority/sequence that only makes sense if you know the internal workings of Ford's system and probably doesn't have any relevance to customers actually getting their car once production is complete
