🎥If you had the final say, what should an interior dashcam actually record?

We’re currently planning the next generation of our dash cams, and we really want to build them around what drivers actually need in the real world. That’s why we’d love to hear your honest thoughts:

  1. When you’re driving, what do you want your dash cam to capture inside the vehicle?
  2. Is there anything you’ve wished your dash cam would record, but couldn’t?
  3. For those situations, have you used any workarounds or alternative solutions?

đź’ˇ Feel free to share your experience or ideas, every piece of feedback helps shape where our future products go.

As a small thank-you, we’ll randomly pick one commenter to receive an exclusive brand T-shirt. It’s just our way of saying thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

I’ve always wished my dash cam could automatically capture what happens right before and after I park. A lot of incidents happen when the car is stopped and the camera misses it.
Also, my biggest issue is hit-and-runs in parking lots. I’ve tried using motion detection, but it’s unreliable. A smarter parking mode with better detection would be great.

I don't have a great need for an interior dash cam, as it's usually just me and maybe my wife in the vehicle. However, if I were an Uber or Lyft driver, I'd want to capture everything the passengers do in the car in case I needed to prove that something did or didn't happen. I think it would also be great for DoorDash drivers in case they need to prove they picked up or delivered at a specific time. It could also show that they didn't tamper with the order while it was in their car.

A great feature for the front- and rear-facing cameras would be the ability to continue recording for 10 minutes after parking the car. I know you can get kits that let you record while parked, but I'm thinking of something more like a small battery built into the camera that lets it record for a few extra minutes.

I wish I had side-facing cameras. I was driving at 70 MPH on an interstate highway, in the middle lane of three. A car slowly approached in the left lane. When the car was immediately to my left, it moved to the right as though the driver were trying to change lanes. I was able to move to the right and evade the other car. I would have liked to capture the full encounter, with a clear image of the other car crossing the lane markings.
