Program a destination in the nav, select GO, then cancel it. The 1 mi flag will dissappear.

Edit: I didn't see the video. Did you find an easier way to deal with that?

The issue isn’t limited to 1 mile. It can be anything, though usually less than 10. In my case it’s always been 7.
