I picked my Mach E last Tuesday June 8 from Jim Hudson Ford in Lexington, SC (just outside of Columbia) about 80 miles from my home outside Charlotte, NC. I had ordered my Star White, ER AWD Premium December 28, 2020. It was an anxious process for sure and as I have described to friends it was rather painful to go through the wait. Every other car I have purchased (~20 or so) was available in a matter of days at the most. Even when you buy a house you can usually take ownership within 60 days or so. I feel for those who had an even longer wait. I work in the Lithium industry and have driven EV's (although not any that I personally owned) for more than 10 years. I purchased a Volt when it first came (#666), a Leaf, a Focus Electric, a Tesla Model S P90D all for my company to use as demonstration vehicles for employees and others. I have a pretty strong understanding of Batteries and Cars. Enough about me.

My MME was built the first week of May and I think had many of the bugs worked out compared to the earlier vehicles. I have not heard any buzzing, the ride is great and for the most part it was pretty easy to setup. I had a Chargepoint station installed at the house as my primary charging tool. Initially, I felt the suspension bounce that a few others have commented on but for the most part has not been as pronounced as it could be. I have been using Paak exclusively for the past week and I would describe very few issues other than a concern that it has not locked when I walk away when I have opened the tailgate after exiting the car. In most of my driving I am averaging 3.5 mi/kwh which has been 50:50 interstate:local roads. On the interstate I normally set the cruise control at 78 or so although if I were taking a longer trip I would probably back down to around 75. I find the adaptive cruise control to be night and day better than on my wife's 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When coming up behind a slower vehicle the MME sees it from a long way off and gently slows down. On the Jeep it does not respond until it has reached the distance threshold and then slams on the brakes.

I took it to a car show this past Sunday with a local group that does cruise-ins for classic cars (I normally take my 1979 Jeep) and it was well received and a lot of people asked questions. Where I live in Charlotte so far I have still not seen another Mach E in the wild only at the local dealer. For that reason very few people even notice it since they really do not even know what it is. Although yesterday was an interesting day. In the morning, two people gave it the thumbs up driving on the interstate and in the afternoon I think the Porsche 911 Carrera driver was more than a little surprised when I kept up with him accelerating from a stoplight up to ~70ish before we both backed off.

So far the three things that I described to people is that is a fantastic driving car in all aspects, gets great economy and the Settings/Controls can be overwhelming.

And on the 10th day the windshield was chipped and an hour later had become a six inch crack. I will be calling the insurance company on Monday.

Sorry to hear about the windshield cracking. We had that happen on a brand new Forester in the first month of ownership. We ended up replacing it on our own. Our insurance is inexpensive but we has $1,000 deductible. They recently switched our plan and windshield replacement is $250 deductible and everything else is $1,000.

On day five I got a chipped windshield and had Safelite come to the house to fix it. The man did a beautiful job and I could not see where he fixed it. Next day I got a second chip and the repair was good but I can still see where it was chipped. Fortunately, it is out of my line of vision. The MME must have very soft or thin glass or both. I hope this does not continue. After four chips the windshield should be replaced.

No chips in my 2021 Job2 car. I know the glass has been hit by debris, as I've seen them hit while driving and heard more. My front bumper and my frunk lid got chipped up by debris during my trip up and back down the West Coast. Still waiting on the touch-ups to harden and finish out-gassing before polishing the high spots down. ??

Well as you can see this is an old thread that I started with the old MME. I sold it for a profit last December and got my new MME (GT this time). Night and day. I have said the old one was one of the best driving cars I have owned (20+ over the years) but this one takes it to another level.
