2025 compass shows up occasionally... Why?

Ok, I can't figure this one out. Couldn't find anything in the manual either.

Every so often, I see N S E W etc show up under the blue car image in the small instrument cluster screen above the wheel. It's rarely there, but I'd love to have it stick around. There doesn't seem to be any correlation between its appearance and when I use Google maps to navigate or not. I don't see a setting anywhere. It's a mystery to me.

I'm in a 2025 MME if that helps.

Most likely a software bug. I’ve only seen it once on my 2025 after rebooting the SYNC screen. Maybe a future software update will fix it…. @Ford Motor Company

I've seen this since I bought my 2025 in early Sep. I recorded a message about it asking for a software update to fix it in the car's feedback feature. I sure hope they fix it soon!

In my 2025 purchased in Sep. my compass always comes back if reboot the display, then it always disappears again and stays gone after subsequent startups.

I don't know what the magic is but we have never had a problem with this, it is always there.

Just for reference I completely turned Android Auto off and the compass is still there.

Ditto, my 2025 MME purchased in April has had the same compass problem from day one. About a month ago, I brought my car to the local Ford service department for service. The compass reappeared after Ford updated a couple software modules. After two days, the compass again disappeared. Ford: this appears to be a systemic problem that needs to be fixed.

I recorded several messages in the feedback app over the past couple months asking them to fix it, I hope they are listening...

I have a 2025 Premium AWD and have never seen the directional on my screen. Any tips for seeing it - even once?

So to reboot the display, that is volume down plus the next song --> button correct?

My 2023 has it all the time on the lower right. Perhaps Ford found that we only occasionally looked at it and so only displays it only occasionally now. Sorta like other early features.
