Ha ha exactly!!!We can rename this a “puff” sounds. To me it‘s like the sound a NYC buss makes when stopping.
That sounds like the heat pump reversing valve opening after shutdown, which releases trapped refrigerant in the lines. This is normal.ok here it is - listen to the end
What the........The train has made it to the station was my 1st reaction!!!Mine poofs too. I recorded it but having trouble attaching it.
Did you read any of the replies here? It's the air conditioning refrigerant reversing valve opening. The noise it is caused by the sudden equalization of pressure inside the refrigerant lines when the valve opens.Ok who knows what this sound is ? The first is me turning my Mach E mustang off and then listen to the next sound like a poof
thank you - I didnt see your reply till now -weird how I recently traded in my 2023 for a 2026 and never heard that before - atleast you say its "normal"Did you read any of the replies here? Poof sound = refrigerant
And here I was thinking it was relieved for other reasons...LOL! Sounds like it’s relieved to be out of the heat!
Exactly the same principle, both are depressurizing either by venting to the atmosphere or equalizing by opening valves. What the........The train has made it to the station was my 1st reaction!!!
Your 2023 didn't have a heat pump, that's why you didn't hear it before.thank you - I didnt see your reply till now -weird how I recently traded in my 2023 for a 2026 and never heard that before - atleast you say its "normal"
Now, I'm not sure I want a heat pump!!!Your 2023 didn't have a heat pump, that's why you didn't hear it before.
