I purchased my 23.5 in April and have just shy of 6k miles.

Recently the dealer started calling and emailing that I’m due (or past due; depending on the message) for my first service.

does anyone know what this service entails?

the rest of the email shows deals for oil changes and other things I believe are more relevant to an ICE

The first service (10k miles - not some other arbitrary dealer service interval garbage) is really just a tire rotation and a visual inspection of a number of components. If you choose to get this done at a dealer - call around and get prices first. We've seen dealers charge as much as $100-$200 for this. But there are some more reasonable at like $35-$50.

Check your manual for the full details and service intervals.

My first was $0 (coupon) from selling dealer.

Only work done was rotate tires.

Now, I am using America's Tire for free tire rotations.

Guess I am cheap ?

I also bought my car in April 23. Have returned the the dealer zero times, rotated my tires once (at 10k miles)

I'm guessing the reach-out is scripted for all sales there, and doesn't differentiate for EVs

A glaring example of why the EV is so unattractive to a Legacy Service Department. They either are all in on building a new after sale business model, or they immediately see the EV as an adversary.

It's just where things are currently.
But I don't think they meant for you to bring them your new Mach-E
