72 Plate, but built October 21

Hi all,

Just after a little advise. Recently purchased a 72 plate MME from a Ford dealership, however, recently found out that it was built in October 21. Is this going to be an issue with regards to Ford warranty, or any other potential issues? Should they of advised me with regards to the construction date, or am i worrying for nothing?

As far as I am aware, the warranty starts from when the vehicle was first registered NOT when it was built. Mine was built Dec 20 but I didn't take delivery until May 21 which is when my warranty started.

Our registration plates dictate the 6month period the car was registered. So a 22 plate was register between March and September 2022 and a 72 plate was registered between September 2022 and March 2023.

My warranty began when I purchased it new. Registering it with the BMV had nothing to do with the warranty.

As far as I am aware, the warranty starts from when the vehicle was first registered NOT when it was built. Mine was built Dec 20 but I didn't take delivery until May 21 which is when my warranty started.

Generally the warranty starts when a vehicle is “put into service.” A mannequin may have been put into service prior to it first being sold (and therefore its warranty starts date would be before the car was first sold). ??

Warranty Start Date in UK is based on when vehicle is 1st registered with the DVLA and gets number plate assigned. This date is on the V5C. When it was manufactured has nothing to do with it.
