Just had a call from my dealer. Ford are holding back delivery because 1. they need to do a software update and 2. there is an 'official' launch to happen. Apparently the over the air software updates won't be available day #1 but will come later. ETA is now "December" with no better accuracy. I’ll just admire my level 2 charger on the wall doing nothing for a few more weeks.

Ford Australia are finally starting to ship customer orders and some dealers have cars in their showrooms. Ford have been sending cars by a RORO vessel from Port Melbourne to Port Kembla and Brisbane in the last week (not sure how they are getting cars to other states). Dealers are receiving these cars now. Hopefully we all get our long awaited toys soon!

Below is a shot of a GT at my local dealer and the window sticker (sorry but this was the best shot I could get).

Mine was delayed until April and then the dealer had a cancellation for the same spec and colour as mine so I pick that one up mid Jan.

Looks like those early stories speculating they would come from China were wrong.

Pick her up tomorrow! These come from factory with almost no charge in the battery so the dealer has to charge them overnight before customer delivery.

So we have had our MachE Premium for 2 weeks now.

I'm getting used to the 1 pedal driving. If you are using adaptive cruise and touch the brake to disengage it then the one pedal driving feature slows the car down quite aggressively. That takes a bit of getting used to.

I love the fact that with solar panels we have driven 1,000ks and have not paid a cent for energy.

The 600k range estimate is a bit ambitious - I don't drive it hard but its probably closer to 500ks on a full charge in normal conditions.

I also like the speed limit sign reading it does. Its better than my ranger in that it anticipates a lower speed limit in advance and slows before you get to a sign.

I also love the app which helps keep up to date with charging and tweaking the charging times and limits.

All in all - no regrets. Looking forward to seeing how it pans out over the full ownership cycle.

PS. Took this pick next to a 1968 mustang. The owner was very happy for me to take this side by side. I expected a bit of push back from a "true mustang" owner - but he was chuffed.
