Hey there, just got my 2023 GT earlier in the week, and still trying to figure it out. I have been experimenting with using the door code because I like to go running and usually don't bring my phone or I leave it in the car (with bluetooth off). Whenever I do that though, i get an email about the backup code being used. I would like to disable that email, but I can't seem to find a way to do it in the Fordpass app?

I get an email only when the backup start code is used, never when the door code only is used.

You know that's interesting. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Whenever I use the door code and attempt to start the car (without a phone or fob present), it forces me to put in the backup code on screen. Is there a way to not need that?

Your original post said you’re using the door code not the backup start code. The email for using the backup start code is normal. I just delete them when they show up. As far as I know, there’s no opt out for those emails. I’ve been known to be wrong though. Someone else may be to definitively answer this question.

Another option is to turn Bluetooth on your phone back on once you’re done and heading out. In my experience BT can be a bit wonky when guy do that though.

The backup code is something that shouldn't be necessary, because a FOB or PaaK is present. Therefore, Ford decided that IF it's used, the app notifies. It's saying "hey, this is unusual". One surefire way to stop notifications from bothering you is to switch to Android, the Ford Android app doesn't notify you of ANYTHING...

But it’s an email.
Thanks for the notification... Buh, duh, bum! You're right.

Let's see what my Ford app has emailed me... Looking now...

Your Backup Start Passcode was used

So yes, it does send an email. If that bothered me, I could go into my email client and make a rule to block it.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll do. But also, since I will be leaving my phone in the car during the run, once I come back to the car, open it with the door key, I'll just re-enable bluetooth before starting the car so as to avoid needing the backup code in the 1st place.

Thanks for listening to me folks!
Regards, electric noobie

Well that too, plus the notice in FordPass on my iPhone which I don’t have with me cause I left it in the house cause I’m just moving the car out of the garage so I can wash it so I won’t see that message anyway. Oh and it also notifies my wife’s FP too. Her comment is, “Your car is very chatty.”

See, I really can over complicate anything! ;)

Hey, when did this become about you? ;)
It’s always about me! Whomever that me might be. ;)

In all seriousness, does anyone know if there’s an opt-out for that email message hidden in the bowels of the connected services website or something?
