I currently own the 2023 MME Premium eAWD.

It has the Active Park Assist button, but the only option is to navigate to available local parking. From my research, I found that because of a chip shortage, they didn’t install them in the 2023 Mach-E. I was wondering if it’s possible to get it installed. So, I contacted the dealership where I purchased my vehicle, and he said no, but his no seemed very dismissive.

Q: Would it be possible to get Active Park Assist chip ordered & installed?
Q: Do you use the Active Park Assist?
> If Yes, how was your experience?

Thank you

My understanding is that you would need to replace a rather expensive module (APIM?) and doing so wouldn’t be easy.

I have the feature MME and honestly it really isn’t worth it. I find it can’t park in the few places where I would want its help. The rest of the time the 360° camera easily addresses my needs.

To parallell park, its just OK, but it will curb your wheels about 3 of every 10 attempts.

To vertically park it takes over 5 minutes. I have a video of the misery I took the last time i entered a thread about this. Its horrific.

I’ll second John. I have the feature and, for its time, it was cutting edge. It handled park-in and park-out in a variety of situations (parallel, pull-in, back-in) and did it quickly and efficiently. HOWEVER:
1. Engaging it was “fiddly” (especially if you wanted an alternative parking scenario).
2. It frequently missed parallel spaces that were more than large enough.
Overall, using it was just too time-consuming in busy urban environments where you have someone right behind you who either wants to keep moving, or wants that space you’re trying to auto-park into. Either way, they’re annoyed at you.
Ford could have done one of two things:
1. Improved the system over time.
2. Decided the problem was too hard, gave up, and deleted it from all models going forward.
Care to guess the solution Ford took? ???

I'm actually dealing with park assist issue right now. One of the reasons I bought my 2024 MME was because I knew they were discontinuing Park Assist. I have a 2013 Ford Escape with the original PA and it is fantastic. We are in the city frequently and it is so helpful to have that feature.

Anyway, I saw the Park Assist on the window sticker (they now say it was a credit) the salesperson assured me it was equipped. Shortly after getting my vehicle home, I realized it was not working. So, I took it into the dealership and they said it needed a software update that they had to do there. When it finished, I took it home and it did not work (I know, I should have tested it before I left). My car has been at the dealership since early April and this past Friday, after many attempts to fix it, they said it was not available on my car. I swear it was on the window sticker, but they said it was actually indicating that it was a credit.

Not 100% sure what I'm going to do about this, but I do share your disappointment. If anyone else has some ideas about how to equip the car, that would be great.
