I've had my MME for 2 years and suddenly this problem arises. When the adaptive cruise is on at highway speeds, it suddenly slams on the brakes when a semi passes on the right. Also when I pass a semi on the right. I worry that someone is going to rear end me since it is very sudden and I don't think the brake lights come on when the cruise brakes. Now I keep my foot on the accelerator when a semi approaches because it does it every time. Scary.

The brake lights are actuated by an accelerometer and doesn't care if you are in 1PD, 2PD, or cruise. When the Mach E brakes hard, the brake lights come on.

Ok, that's good to know but I would like a solution to the main problem.

Hopefully you find the answer sooner rather than later, sounds really dangerous. Please update when you find the problem.

Is it happening in the same location every time? Have you tried turning off the Speed Sign Recognition?

No it has happened several times always on the freeway but not at the same location. I don't use the speed sign recognition ever.

I misspoke, it happens when a semi passes on the left or if I pass one one the right so its always the left side of the car. It doesn't happen if the passing is on the right side of the car. very worrisome.

Sounds like maybe your radar is out of alignment. The radar cone is between the grill shutters on the front bumper.

Maybe a dealer can fix it.
