Ok folks needs some help. I’m quite certain I am not the first person to put a complete aftermarket stereo in a Mach E.

A reputable stereo shop in Broken Arrow Ok has done several builds for me over the years. Great quality work. Take my first 24 Mach E GT to them and they installed Focal K2’s in the front doors, two amps (nothing crazy) and a 12” Treo in a ported box. Everything sounds amazing but once you get the volume to a certain point the entire stereo will just shut off for several seconds then come back on. Almost like the car is going into a protect mode. So I had them install a second battery thinking the draw is just too heavy when the sub hits hard for example. Didn’t fix it. That car got totaled. Got another Mach E 24 GT. I had them install everything and this time we wired a Stinger Capacitor in line. Still same problem.
As I stated above, I’m surely not the first to have this issue. What’s the solution folks?

Ensure they didn’t run an amp wire to the battery negative terminal. The stereo should use body grounds only.

If the stereo is drawing too much power, the body control module may command load shed mode, in which the stereo and non-critical systems will shut down to preserve 12V power. Limit system power to 1000W or less. You probably have a huge 2000W sub that’s drawing more power than the DC/DC converter can provide. If so, you’ll have to put in a smaller sub that draws less power.
