All was working fine until today when I try to use the Alexa app in the car and she responds with ‘I’m having trouble connecting, please check your internet connection’.

As far as I know, I haven’t changed anything although the car has performed an OTA update at some Point today.

FordPass is working fine so I assume that the connectivity from the car to the internet is fine.

any ideas how I can work out what’s wrong?

Spent a bit of time on the issue this morning and when I go into the Alexa app on my phone it says it cannot connect to the car.
so I tried logging out of Alexa on the car and then reconnecting. Didn’t work.
Next I tried turning off the Ford Connected Vehicle which turned off all connectivity. Turned each level of connectivity back on, reconnected Alexa and…
it worked…
But only for a brief period. Tried again just now and no connection again.
The car is due a visit to the dealer on Monday to sort out the door keypad and grinding rear brakes so another item to add to the list…

I w always had Alexa connection issues. Sometimes she does what I ask. Other times she tells me that I need a connected services account (which I do). Never had the “I’m having trouble connecting to the internet” though. I am familiar with that phrase from my echos in the house but the car has never said it. Do all the other connected services work on the car? Navigation would be easiest to check. Because that phrase usually means a modem/router issue in the house.

Thanks for the response.

The rest of the car seems to connect ok (Fordpass can see the car) and the navigation seems to be working ok without throwing up any errors relating to connection.

It seems to happen both when I am connected via the wifi at home on the drive and also when out and about using the mobile network card.
