I've had my MachE for two years and have known the whole time that I could buy an adapter to use a Tesla charger if I needed to. Isn't yesterday's announcement just Ford's way of advertising that you can do this? Not getting the hype.

Yes, you're missing the fact that those Tesla adapters are only for Level 2. They don't work for Superchargers.
Ah. Got it. In two years I have only had to charge one time away from home. So not an issue I pay much attention to. But I get that for greater EV adoption folks have to get past range anxiety/fears.

It’s not range anxiety they need to get past, it’s the lack of electrons. Cars can only go do far before you need to recharge and quite often that’s well before calling it quits in the driving for tye say.
