Aosk mud guards....a question

I installed the 4 splash guards, and they look good. The rear ones adhere better and tighter to the body but not the front ones.
In the picture, I pushed gently with my finger to show how it can bend forward a bit.
The front one attaches with a plastic peg up top (red dot), and with a screw at the farthest inward point (blue dot).
I'm thinking of using a thin screw to better secure the middle area (yellow dot). That will require drilling the plastic splash guard and the car's wheel well plastic area.

Should I use a thin screw? Or drill a wider hole so that I can insert a black plastic body clip?
What do other aosk mud guard buyers think?

The set I had on my 2021 were installed using nothing but the fasteners supplied by AOSK. Same with my 2024. I PPF’d the area of the car between the fender and the splash guard to prevent paint abrasion. No other issues other than the splash guards not being quite wide enough for my wheel/tire setup. ??

Sometimes being too rigid will break easier than something that is just a little flexible.

I‘ve used the Aosk on 2 cars now and haven’t had any problem with them being installed per the instructions. I get the winter build of snow and ice on mine with no problems.

That's a valid point. I won't have snow or ice, but certainly water from rain puddles.
The bottom is held by a screw and it's on there tight, but the top is held by a plastic clip that seems...fragile.
But,you've used them before, so I'll trust that.

I added some ceramic sealant on my mud flaps to give it a bit of shine to more closely match the cars trim. The gloss is there when clean but definitely not noticeable when dirty with road salt. There's only so much you can do with piano black and matte black.

I wonder if we can spray the guards with a glossy clear coat from HD, for example. It would protect them a bit and would match the trim closer perhaps.

Since the mud flaps are textured, you would likely need to coat, cure, sand, coat, cure, sand, then buff. Not sure if it will turn out so well. Since my car has body-colored wheel well lip moldings, the bead-blasted look on the mud flaps is just fine. ?‍?

There is Krylon spray paint in a can for plastic, I thought about it, but decided to leave it as is. You could try satin black .
