Back Glass Breaking

Search for this , so if it's been discussed point me to the link. Has anyone had there hatch glass break? I'm in a couple of Facebook groups and have seen a couple of post about the glass breaking for no apparent reason. One lady went to her garage to leave and her glass had broken. One gentleman was in his car when it happen. Just curious is this something that is known and happening on a more regular basis than the 2 cases I have heard about..

Even on some of the Facebook pages I could not find anything about this. I'm sure it happens. I would suspect about as often as a Tesla window blowing out I would guess.

Wow. I have never seen a window shatter completely like that.

I have. Tempered glass and too swift of a temperature change. Or even not that swift but a huge difference between inside and out.

Wonder if the fact the liftgate is plastic contributes. Likely changes temperature a lot faster than steel would have.

I'm in the same Facebook Group and saw both threads. I'm fairly confident both reports are honest and suspect it's an issue created by bad fitting at the factory or something. I've seen Model Y posts regarding the same issue. It happens I guess.

Were any of these in areas where it was freezing outside? My car will hold a ton of water around and under the rear glass. Perhaps some melting/refreezing under the glass caused the shattering?
