Hi, everyone so I live in Canada and ordered Mustang Mach E premium AWD long range battery cyber orange in Mid May of this year. I wanted a 2023 model so I told them I will come back when the order banks open they insisted that due to shortages Ford will soon be closing 2022 vehicles order and they can take my order now (MAY) and when the banks open I would be amongst the first few people to get 2023 Mach E . August 30th 2023 order banks opened they did put my name amongst the first few people as promised but I am now trying to contact my dealer to get information for my build order and my vin number but he isn't being a lot of help I emailed him last week regarding this no reply today I called him he said I shouldn't be contacting him every week maybe every month would be better as he got other customers to look after which is kind of understandable. He said he isn't trying to be rude but its kinda frustrating then he said he will check if I got a build number/ vin number or not and will let me know. I have a feeling he won 't look into this does anyone know any other way I can check if I got a build date and vin number.

Welcome to the wait but it is worth it.
Thanks for welcoming me to the WAIT btw if you don't mind me asking how long did you waited?

My salesman used exactly the same line when I greatly inconvenienced him by trying to contact him a couple of times in a calendar month after he blew me off for a long time. “I have 80 customers right now and have to look after them too, blah blah…”

I told him, “Well I only have one salesman. You. And you need to respond to my questions.”

The sales manager ended up interested in the situation, and was actually helpful in straightening it out. We came to an understanding.

My retiree neighbor sums it up well: “Do no harm but take no s***.”

Did you get an email directly from Ford confirming the dealership put the order in for you? If so, you'll get another email from them when they assign you a build date that will have your VIN number in it. You could try calling or chatting with Ford customer service to see if they can find anything for you, but I'm not sure how helpful they will be. If your sales guy is being a turd, you could always try going to his manager or someone higher at the dealership. I've been super lucky with my sales guy. He's been texting me updates and/or lack of updates every day he is at work without me having to ask. I hope you get some answers soon!
