  1. Alert on hacking tool (Flipper Zero) being used to steal cars … including A LOT of Fords

I use my fob buttons all the time. About half of my vehicle usage involves having family in the car, and I want everyone to be able to open their respective doors as they walk up rather than waiting until I first open my door. They appreciate it; I appreciate it. It's a better experience. I...
  2. Rear trunk opened on its own

Yes, twice in my '21 Premium Extended Range AWD. I don't have PAAK enabled. For me, the trunk and frunk opened simultaneously and immediately upon turning off the car and exiting the vehicle. I didn't press any buttons (aside from the power switch), touch the screen, or even have my feet on...
  3. NC QuickPass Transponder Trouble?

My prior transponder did not work in any windshield location. I found it worked flawlessly from inside the glove compartment, though. Last year I got a newer transponder and installed in the windshield area specified by the manual, where it works just fine.
  4. Does your BlueCruise hug the right lane?

My 1.3 update immediately corrected the right-side bias. Both my wife and I noticed it right away. The vehicle is well centered now when BC is active, and I love the gentle drift to the left when passing a truck on the highway.
  5. Bluecruise 1.3 for 2021 Mach-E has arrived

Did you reach out to them or was it offered to you proactively by Ford? I am reading accounts of people getting another BC year at no charge, and wondering if there is a specific best vector to use if I want to seek that for myself.
  6. Bluecruise 1.3 for 2021 Mach-E has arrived

I haven't gotten any such deal... please tell me more about this!
  7. Memories of starting my ICE engine 40 years ago

My parents bought an Oldsmobile diesel station wagon in 1980. If the temperature was below 40F, starting that piece of crap was a 20-minute exercise in probability. Sometimes the probability was 0. Climbing hills on family road trips was similarly fraught with uncertainty. By 1986 we had a...
  8. Bluecruise 1.3 for 2021 Mach-E has arrived

'21 job 2, AWD extended range. Got the 1.3 update last night. Haven't tried it out yet. By total coincidence, BC subscription expires at end of Feb. Now my subscription decision moves from "hell no" to "ehhhhhhh, I'll think about it."
  9. A2Z Adapter Recall: Typhoon v1 Exchange Program

I noted this language In the email I received after initiating my recall exchange: ——- Return Method: Instructions on how to safely dispose of the adapter will be provided upon shipping of your replacement adapter. ——- As is sometimes the case with Amazon exchanges. A2Z may simply tell us to...
  10. NACS - Why not specify port location?

Keeping in mind that "NACS" is based on Tesla's own in-house standard --net of some mostly-invisible changes and a renaming to retrain the public into thinking it, not CCS, was the real standard all along -- expanding it to standardize things like port locations quite possibly would result in a...
  11. Original 2021 Owners - Check In

I took delivery of a 2021 job 2 Premium AWD Extended Range in Rapid Red in early 2022. It still looks new, runs wonderfully, gives me no real trouble at all, garners frequent compliments, and does everything my family of 4 needs for both local mobility and road tripping. I plan to keep it for a...
  12. Email from Ford: Tesla NACS Replacement Adapter Shipping Soon

I received my adapter Tuesday 10/29, order ID 90024840. Looks like the Tesla unit. Having used by A2Z adapter since early summer, I'm happy with it. Plan is to test this one out and, assuming it works, give one adapter or the other to my dad for use with his Ioniq 5.
  13. Ford Power Promise: Your Electric Journey, Enhanced

A family member of mine bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and got a free ChargePoint unit plus installation via Hyundai's preferred installer. There are always considerations and issues with the notion of a "free charger and installation," but net of that I still got a very positive review from him...
  14. In case anyone was wondering...yes the frunk can hold a bushel of apples.

A chaldron to a windle, A beatment from a boll. A basket rent to kindle Damps a busheler's burning soul! Candela inhibit rating should be clearly marked on the underside of the bushel next to the maker's hot-branded mark upon manufacture. This regulated procedure is followed worldwide, assuming...
  15. In case anyone was wondering...yes the frunk can hold a bushel of apples.

To answer your question then, @AKgrampy : the frunk holds a touch over 15 pecks of pickled peppers, assuming you are measuring them in the US
  16. Random Mach-E Photos of the Day - Post Yours! 📸 🤳

When you juuuuuust clear the parking garage height limit.
  17. Frunk and Trunk Opened by Themselves

I have experienced the same thing multiple times, most recently a handful of days ago. I haven't had my hatch open into a closing garage door. Yet. Fob sitting in the console, not in a pocket. Phone sitting on the wireless charge pad, not in a pocket nor in my hand. Turn off the car, don't...
  18. Softer Suspension?

There are no suspension miracles in the offering for this car, but people have had luck with both lifting and lowering springs. I don't personally like the look of the lifted Mach E, so this week I installed Eibach GT performance springs on my '21 Premium Extended Range AWD. It has made a real...
  19. Supercapacitors: New King Of Power?

Yeah. The news here is progress in efficiently, accurately simulating electrode operation within a supercapacitor, so virtual design experiments and explorations can hopefully be faster and more comprehensive. That may mean better supercapacitors on the lab bench at some future date, with...
  20. Worn out suspension.......

This was my experience. I had a 2023 as a loaner while my '21 was in for some quick service, and the very first thing I noticed about driving the '23 was that it was considerably smoother than my '21 over the same roads I drive every day. I don't know enough about the '23s to know why. But I...
