On the PA Turnpike, where exits are often spaced at roughly one per time zone, I missed my intended exit for DCFC during the middle of winter due to some defensive maneuvering to avoid a trio of lane-drifting trucks. Thirty seconds of distraction and boom, the exit was already behind me. Whole...
I'd like a simple on-screen button labeled "Precondition," showing up whenever I am NOT using built-in nav (hence no automatic preconditioning), and I push it about 20 minutes before I arrive at a charger. Fully my responsibility to push the button. A status stripe on the screen then reads...
It's a shame when people use the first sentence above as a bridge to the second sentence above.
When someone says "my source is Wikipedia," at best it's a form of shorthand. It's typically the case that (1) they aren't citing sources correctly in a written work, and/or (2) they aren't...
This unexpected simultaneous trunk & frunk opening upon power-off has happened to at least two others on these forums. I am one of them.
My thread on this topic: Spontaneous trunk AND frunk opening when parked?
Having once worked at NHTSA, my first suspicion during truly bizarre auto behavior...
Not to pick on this post in particular. But having once lived in Cambridge MA for several years, the idea that there would be a high speed chase of any substantial duration through those streets is pretty entertaining.
Maybe on Memorial Drive at 3am. I think you'd get maybe a good 2-3 mile run...
The dotted windshield area was very hit-or-miss as a mounting spot for my older EZ Pass transponder. So I threw the thing in the glove box more than a year ago as an experiment, and since then it seems to register at the toll every single time.
The better solution would be to finally ditch that...
It has been a little while, so my memory is a bit hazy. But as I recall, I ended up deleting my driver profile; removing myself completely from the app (seemingly making my wife the primary account tied to the car in the process) and of course removing the app from my phone; having my wife then...
Interesting idea. My phone was sitting on the wireless charging pad at the time of the event, and my hands were nowhere near it... but this has me wondering if it was conceivably the app that went wacko in that moment, instead of the car. Perhaps the car was just following the instructions it...
So this is a new one for me:
Nice spring day today. Took a drive at lunch. Returning home, I pulled into the garage, shut off the car, and prepared to get out. All seemed normal.
I opened the driver door to exit, and at the precise moment when I pulled the driver door lever, simultaneously...
My salesman used exactly the same line when I greatly inconvenienced him by trying to contact him a couple of times in a calendar month after he blew me off for a long time. “I have 80 customers right now and have to look after them too, blah blah…”
I told him, “Well I only have one salesman...
My take: I'm definitely a fan of the more textured knob for the gear selector, and I'm pretty ambivalent about the volume knob, so I guess I would want it to match the gear selector (i.e., have more texture).
Both of the OEM knobs have a finer texture around their edges, and I guess I don't see...
Game changer in Delaware, specifically the southern Rehoboth, Bethany, and Lewes areas.
But only if the pricing is reasonable. Reasonable being somewhere in the neighborhood of current supercharger rack rates or maybe slightly higher.
If I need to pay a ton per year for membership, instead of...
I have an AOSK storage box and have found it very useful for holding keys and especially phones. Never considered using it to shield the back of the display from inbound solar radiation (less of an issue in the mid-Atlantic), but I suppose it probably does a good job of that too. 😊
^^^ This, right here.
TONS of people go to IKEA, an increasing number of whom drive EVs. Apartment dwellers who in many cases lack at-home charging options; homeowners who are fine with what may be an hourlong drive in each direction for flat pack furniture and maybe a charge top off; and now...
I'd probably pay more than $20, but if the price starts approaching three digits for a pair of knob covers, it would be a quick no-thanks from me too.
I think your hesitation is well founded, @AOSK. Given the careful thought that goes into launching plastic accessories like storage bins, phone...
Same!
Not very interested in a headlight knob cover, as it is far less visible than the centrally located volume and shift knobs. The headlight knob is also in the least need of an upgrade IMO, as it's just a headlight switch (I know, wrong crowd to say anything in this car is "just"...
