*Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. BlueCruise is a hands-free highway driving feature. Only remove hands from the steering wheel when in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control of the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner's Manual for detail and limitations.

When BlueCruise comes don't become like many complacent Tesla drivers and ignore the fact that YOU are still responsible to drive your car!

BlueCruise is a driver Aid. Not a replacement driver. And it is designed for highway use in "Blue Zones" meaning roads it has already been mapped with MOART (Mother Of All Road Trips).

Didn’t motor trend or road and track or something publish a hit piece claiming BlueCruise can be fooled with glasses with fake eyes taped on the seat back and had a pic of someone lounging in the passenger seat (implying the car was BlueCruising along on its on a la Tesla)?

The eye sensors are mounted over the steering wheel so a passenger wouldn't work. Not sure about the fake eyes but I'm sure they would need to be reflective enough to match the human eye surface and lens.

Having worked in software for the better part of my life, you can almost never design a system that can be completely, 100% safeguarded against 1) idiots, or 2) people purposefully trying everything that they can to defeat your system.

Dumbasses gotta dumbass.

Wonder if Ford will ban people from Blues Clues if they misuse it....

If we are talking about potential ways to defeat the eye-nanny… nope, still not speaking that evil into existence.

The only way to make it so the system can't be fooled is to not have the system at all

Yea I don't think Ford put in a depth sensor (a-la kinect/face-id style). It's just cameras. 2D pictures would work fine. You could train a AI model to detect skin-tones etc to eliminate pictures but then racial differences would also likely false flag people. It's a limit of the technology.
