Bluetooth Phone Audio Glitchy

BT Phone audio has been on and off glitchy since I bought this car in April. Its been through a variety of OTA updates that have not resolved the issue. Happens with my iPhone 13 (T-mobile) and is happening with my iPhone 15 (Verizon) now. Yes, they are up to date. I use the same phones in my 2019 Exped with no issues, 2021 GT500 with no issues and a 2024 F350. I have overheard others in the Ford service dept asking about glitchy audio on their BT phone connection, but was a Bronco owner.

Anyone else experiencing this? It's not every call, but pretty regular. Can disconnect the call, re-dial and it'll be fine for the remainder of the call.

I'm having problems as well, though intermittent. Occasionally, it will sound like static interference, and once there was no audio at all, though that could have been an AT&T issue.

Bluetooth has been an issue for me off and on for 1+ years. It got better with an update, but I still get dropped BT audio in the middle of calls sometimes. (Android user here, using stock Android.)

With all of their vehicles supporting Bluetooth for many, many years, one would think this would be a non-issue in 2024, but here we are.

(FYI, I posted about something similar, Ford responded as they did above and told me to go to a dealer. The dealer does not have software engineers, as it's very clearly a software issue.)

I have the same issue too but I go to the Ford dealer and they blame my IPhone (14promax) and they send me on my way without it being resolved. Very disappointing and if it wasn’t for the style of this car I would have leased a Tesla the Tech in them are way crazy better (brother just got one) they have there shit right and Ford needs to go from elementary school to college to start to get competitive in this growing market of EV’s. can’t wait till my lease runs out to switch to a college graduate vehicle!!!

In this case, the definition is that the call quality stinks, broken up, electronic sounds over the top of the person I am speaking with. Sounds like the effects in The Matrix when Neo ingests the pill.

Im not sure the dealer service dept is equipped to handle this issue unless there is a service bulletin or known fix in a software update.

FMC “Social Media Team” suggests taking it to the dealer. While understand why they would suggest that, we all know that’s going to just cost me time off from work with no resolution to this issue. “It’s your phone”. “Wait for an update”. “Not sure what to tell you”. “We aren’t able to find anything wrong”. Call me cynical, but it’s based on experience. What is the point of DM-ing FMC if it’s their social media team responding. How about a software engineer sending a response. Or at least someone who can get past page 1 of the support/response manual.

Recently purchased a 2024 Mach e and I'm having the same Bluetooth audio glitch. The matrix example is exactly what it sounds like. Have you learned anything new!

My 23 Premium had audio issues with blutooth calls until an OTA dropped that fixed it.
You may need an update to fix it.
