Can anyone identify the part?

After my recent road trip, I notice there is a hole near the front camera. Looking at photos online this seems to be for something. Does anyone know whats this for and is this something I can get my self to fix/ close the hole?
Currently I have a black tape over it.

Check parts.ford.com or your dealer parts department. I’d guess it’s this molding insert:
LJ8Z8C324A but there is no image or exploded parts view…

Not sure what you mean by "what's up with it". If it's not there, it must have fallen off. It's not super common, but you're certainly not the first to report it falling off.

I had to have mine replaced, and the dealer was super-familiar with the part as they said a lot of early MME owners thought it was the frunk release button (purchased mine used and did not see this part was missing.)

I don't have my repair paperwork handy unfortunately, so don't have the part number readily available.

A frunk release button would be far more useful.

What's up is it is gone.

It's possible it popped off when washing the camera when driving (it sprays whenever you wash the front window). Do you run the car through a car wash with brushes?

Unfortunately the dealership has verified it was not added at the time of being built and needs to be replaced. I keep getting the run around “Ford doesn’t have a resolution yet”

That sounds like BS to me.

Looks like it was broken. You can see uneven plastic in the pictures, which is how mine looked. If you have access to the car, feel the edges and I suspect you'll feel the broken plastic.

They verified it’s the wrong part. At the time they said some came without the three nozzle and just put in two (windshield and rear) and would replace it when. The part became available. Since then ? crickets

Just heard back from the dealership. If it was not built with one the. It’s not equipped. I call BS
