I am a programmer by trade. That isn’t how beta programs work. Beta programs are looking for a diverse type of users. They want people that use the cars in many different ways. But since beta software is buggy, they don’t want so many that a bad update takes down an entire massive group of people. So, they need enough users to get a good sample of the various user types, but the smallest selection possible to minimize risk and cost of remediation.I think it helps with the lack of testing that way. Easier to prove it worked well in the field.
