I noticed the car inside temperature was kind of warm after overnight charging from 20% to 90%. it seems like heat is turn on, but you can feel the heat is from the bottom of the car. This happened twice when I charging it overnight.

Does anyone has the same issue when you charging your car overnight?

FYI, my car park in garage more than 11 hours before I start charging it. Also, the fan is running while it is charging.

Yeah this seems normal. Charging the batteries generates a lot of heat and the cooling fluid and the battery are all below the cabin. It is going to generate a fair amount of heat so it yeah it is normal.

Thanks for your replied. I just got the car 2 weeks ago and want to make sure it is normal. Cause my friend's car does not has this behavior. Also, my brother's tesla does not too.

Set a departure time or remote start your car before you are ready to leave. Then the interior will be cool. The MME definitely throws off a lot of heat while charging/preconditioning. My garage is HOT when I go to leave.

Had the car over a year and this hot interior after charging occurred for the first time. Also only reached 69% instead of promised 85% on ford level 2 overnight. Was at 30% and set to charge from 22:00-06:00. Any thoughts?

If you were using the Ford Mobile EVSE, then it's likely that it got hot and thermally limited itself.

The heat from charging is normal for that much of a charge, a more shallow, frequent charge (where possible) will not cause that much heat buildup.

The car is powered by lithium ion batteries, just like your phone, charging from a low % to a high % on your phone will make it get hot too, literally same principal.

Why did I only average 15 miles per hour added during this charge and not the usual 20-22? Never happened before.

So.....what EVSE are you using?
If you are using the solid state Ford Mobile EVSE that came with the car then when it gets hot it can derate itself. What they usually do is shut off, cool down, restart, repeat. I haven't used mine at all so I don't know which method it uses to protect itself. Derate or Pause. Sounds like yours went into a lower power mode due to the heat. When it cools down it should be normal again. You can try placing a fan to blow air across the body of the EVSE.....that usually helps.

If you are using the Ford Connected Charger then that would be another issue entirely.....

Yes, i am using the provided charger. Must have been a combination of hot Fl garage and letting battery get too low before initiating the charge thus causing over heating while charging. Usually my car feels cool upon entry like it is better insulated than ICE cars.
