Any electrician recommendations for a ChargePoint Home Flex install in the garage?
I got a quote today for $650:
Furnish and install 50 amp 2-Pole breaker at garage panel.
Furnish and install surface mounted electrical pvc/dedicated branch circuit using #6 copper wire.
Furnish and install NEMA 14-50 outlet for customer provided EV charger within 2' of garage panel.

That seems like a good price but with 50 amp breaker I think you need it hardwired not an outlet

It’s a little expensive. This is the exact same install I did in my garage. Doing this way is an hour of work and a one person job, and about $50 cost for the line, connectors, a surface mount junction box, outlet and cover.

Just in case it helps someone in the future… 3 quotes: $525, $650, and $715. Ended up going the hardwired route and it was about a $100 cheaper.

Installed my 14-50 nema plug on my own. Cost me $100 in #6 gauge wire and the Nema house with the plug. I installed a generator 50amp 14-50 plug to my panel last year, compared to that, this was a cake walk. Two beers and a Couple scraped bleeding knuckles later, it was installed.
