changing my remote start code

So I cannot remember my remote start code, so I want to change it. When I go to the menu it wants me to have a phone as a key and the fob, but it does not recognize my phone??? And I did test with just the phone to make sure it would open the door and start the car

I would start from scratch by removing the PAAK in the system, deleting the phone from the car and the car from the phone. After all of the removals I would then pair the phone to the car first then add the phone to the system as PAAK. At the end of the adding PAAK the system will ask you to set up a backup passcode to start the car.
