I received my Tesla made NACS to CCS1 adapter today and decided to buy a Harbor Freight Apache 1800 case for it and the A2Z Stellar NACS to J1772 adapter I already had. I knew it would be a tight fit, but the case was $12.99... ended up with a near perfect fit! The bottom layer of pick and pluck foam I left untouched; needed it to keep everything snug when the lid is closed. Could probably go with two rectangles, but I left a little support on the CCS1 side of the A2Z Stellar.

I'm very pleased with the outcome!

Thanks so much for sharing this! We haven’t got our adapter yet, but it’s going to ship soon. I’ll run out and pick one of these up.

You're welcome! If you get the Lectron check the dimensions to make sure it will fit. The approximate dimensions are below. In the orientation I have the case laid out 5" is approaching the max.

Tesla Adapter: 4-7/8" x 3-7/8" x 2-1/2"
A2Z Stellar: 5" x 3-1/2" x 2-1/8"

Nice idea. I have my Supercharger adapter in a nice case but that's all that fits. I made a recent trip and found the hotel chargers were all Tesla Destination Chargers and my TeslaTap was in my Lightning

Bummer! We only have one EV, but when we have two I will definitely have to remember to add adapters to the 'what to pack' list. By the time we get a second it will probably require adapters the other direction (native NACS and needs an adapter to use CCS1 or J1772).

I just glued the two layers of foam together with 3M Super 77 and am now trying Plastidip spray. I've never done Plastidip before, youtube don't fail me now!

Plastidip made the foam seem much more durable. I did many very light coats (more than 5 coats, fewer on the bottom). The result is that the pick and pluck seams are no longer visible on the top and are reduced on the inside while it still feels like foam, just slightly stiffer. If the foam is in a final configuration I would recommend Plastidip spray to ensure longevity of the foam.

Very nice! At $13 this is a no brainer and I might have gone in that direction if I hadn't already made this. Also, if anyone is designing anything for the Ford/Tesla adapter NACS to CCS or the TeslaTap Mini NACS to J1772 adapter, you can use my 3D CAD models here.
