These ways:
  • On PlugShare, select the filter “Hide Tesla Only Locations.”
  • In the Tesla app, pick your vehicle with adapter.
  • Ford app > Public Charging, go to advanced filters and make sure that Fast Charging Adapter (Hide stations needing adapter) is clear.

also, ABRP app will guide you to Tesla chargers that are compatible and so will Apple Maps if you have it set up in your profile. I will say that any type of range anxiety in most of the US now should be going away. I know there are still a couple of desert areas but for the most part it's not an issue. Just got back from a 600 mile trip from Augusta GA to St Johns FL and there were options just about every 50 miles. Even charged in Millen GA at a Tesla charger that is in the middle of nowhere

Try the app called Chargeway on your phone, it also works in CarPlay. I enjoy using it during long trips

Welcome to the forum! The suggestions from @dan_meh and @2FlyMache are solid.

I wanted to jump in with more detail on how to find a charger in the Ford App.

Here is the quick way to do it:
  1. Open the Ford app and hit Energy
  2. Tap Find public charging (under Charge settings)
  3. Look for the stations labeled Adapter Needed
If you see Station Not Compatible, keep driving. Those ones won't charge your Mach-E even if you have the adapter plugged in. You can explore even more here.

If you are planning a longer haul, check out go.ford/evroadtrip. It is a decent resource for getting the lay of the land before you head out.

Catch you around the forum.

Brian, since you jumped in on this, let me ask you why Tesla chargers show up in the "Find Public Charging" but not the navigation app? This is pertinent since you can precondition only in the nav app. Aren't these two apps utilizing the same base mapping technology?

Thanks. I don't have that switch in my Connected Navigation. I'm current on my subscription (at least until July this year) and received the Tesla charger update shortly after Ford and Tesla agreed to allow access to SC. Been using SC's for two years now, but since I don't have that switch available, they don't show.
An update to my rant. I reviewed my Navigation settings, and the navigation app can direct me to most Tesla chargers. It does not, however, list an SC that I would use preconditioning on in Kansas (Russell). And yes, this SC works on non-Teslas. I use it frequently between Ionna charging stations on I-70. This charger shows up available with an adapter in ABRP, PlugShare, and Google Maps, but Ford Navigation does not list it.

They will not show up on the built in navigation until Ford pushes a SYNC update to show chargers that need an NACS adapter.

2025 models have this option from the factory. 2024 Lightning got the update end of last year. 22-23 Lightning and 21-24 Mach-E are still waiting…

And a further update - it's obvious that I didn't read the whole thread that dan_meh referenced. Had I done so, I would have realized that most of us did not get the update to the navigation app that included this switch. It would be nice to hear from Ford if and when we could get that update (really can't imagine it's that tough to code if 2025s have it), or is the only path for this to upgrade the vehicle?

Well, this will be moot for me, since I have zero intention of re-upping my subscription for Ford Navigation. It's an antiquated and archaic program with only one desired function - battery preconditioning.
