oddly enough, I bought an EV because it’s good for the environment, not so, I could save a few cents on fuel charges

To be fair, it’s not “good for the environment.”

At most it’s “less bad.”

We aren’t curing cancer here people. Just making the air slightly less stinky.

If you believe that is fine with me.
My comment of a big difference in four cents per mile I was thinking more miles than Ken was.
As Ken pointed out it is not much difference when only paying it every now and then.
Four cents per mile in 100k miles is four grand.
I would hope no one would pay those high charges all the time. But, there may be those out there that don't have home charging but want to drive an EV so they are fool enough to pay it.

Moving a 5,000 lb object from point A to point B is a lot worse on the environment than moving a 3,000 lb vehicle the same distance. If the environment is really a concern, get the smallest and most efficient vehicle possibe. That isn't a MME. Right? Probably a Prius would be the best choice in that case.

Dozens of people coming up with comparisons of Mach-Es to Camrys is dumb… no matter how many people say it, it is still dumb. Most people don’t know how to do math as this forum provides evidence of on a daily basis.

You have to compare apples to apples on factors that impact efficiency. Size and acceleration being (by far) the top two.

A premium Mach-E is the same size as an Audi Q5 55 and has slightly better acceleration (4.8 vs 5.0). That is an apples to apples comparison. It is not the only valid comparison, but it is surely valid.
I totally agree. I have a Mach-E GT, so why not use a Mustang GT as a comparison point? 19 MPG combined. Or a Macon GTS, which is more expensive but similar size and performance (also 19 MPG combined I believe).

An Audi SQ5 is similar size and lower performance, maybe similar to a Premium AWD performance? It's about 21 MPG combined. So 19mpg seems about right for a GT, maybe round up to 20mpg if you want a nice round number. And a non-GT perhaps around 21mpg.

You can compare to whatever you want. Some are cherry picking only the least efficient cars to try to make us look better. You could just as easily cherry pick the most efficient cars and compare as well. Like a Prius or a RAV4 prime. Honestly it doesn’t really matter which car you pick, it’s just a relative comparison.

That said, since we are talking DC charging, should use highway mileage not combined mileage for a comparison. DC is mostly used for road trips.

No matter which car you decide to compare with, the results are pretty much the same-

If you plan on road tripping in your Mach E and DC charging, it’s going to be on the “more expensive” side of the spectrum. Equivalent to sports cars or performance SUVs.

There are tons of gas and especially hybrid cars that will be cheaper per mile.

One thing that also needs to be calculated in is the extra Tag Fee in Georgia I paid almost $300 for the tag on my Mach E and on my ICE vehicles it was $20
