2023 Mache—new dog pulled. Display control knob off radio and pretty much destroyed it- Ford only shows complete dash unit$1500- any ideas on how to get just knob-online cover won’t work-kind of a techy kind of setup

Unfortunately I don’t see a separate part number for the knob. Only the entire screen + knob is available online. It would be worth it to check with your local Ford parts department.

Yet another reason dogs should be safely restrained (harness, carrier, cage, etc) when in a car. It’s not a safe environment for a pet to roam freely.

Actually, the funny thing is we just sold our 112 year old Ford dealership and after all those years I don’t have a contact at Ford that could get me this knob- Bob Chapman Ford Marysville Ohio—an amazing journey with Ford

Fyi - this display (including the knob) is supplied by an electronic control manufacturer called Tianma. They developed the tech and sold it to Ford, the Ford integrated it into their dash design. You could probably find the knobs Tianma rejects on Alibaba sites, but know they're usually rejected for electrical reasons and you'd have no recourse if it doesn't work. Also, don't underestimate the difficulty of doing this well. Tianma is, as far as early 2024, the only ECM to do this.

Thanks for that great info- I’ll do. Some searching in that area- I have glued the knob somewhat together and. Pushed in back on over the inner knob base and it’s better than nothing- not sure or if the outer ring is removable except by dog teeth!

Wow, I did NOT expect to see an actual ball bearing in there. Impressive. The detent mechanism is common enough. I still don't see how they're encoding and transmitting the knob position though
