On Friday I made the purchase for a 2023 Premium with the extended range/nite pony package that had been on a local dealer's lot for a few weeks. Was able to go back and forth and get it for MSRP because of it not being eligible for the tax credit. After driving off the lot, I found out on the forums here that it now is eligible. Had some bad luck this year, but it would seem I got really lucky purchasing on Friday before the dealers became aware and could mark up?

Only thing I'm unhappy about is I got my first windshield rock chip within five minutes of pulling off the lot... o_O

Great photos! I see my car every day and every time I look at photos of these cars I'm still blown away by how pretty they are!

Congratulations on the getting the car for MSRP and for feeling lucky in your purchase. You're going to love the car.

With all the bad press including today (https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/04/business/automakers-problems-catching-up-with-tesla/index.html), I am quite confident that MSRP is the ceiling now. Anyone IMO, paying over is throwing away good money.

Good Luck with your ride!!

Congrats on your new Mach-E!

Funny story: We ordered a 2023 CR1 Cyber Orange last August when the 2023 order app opened, & got assigned a build date in mid-November. As the end of the year approached, it became obvious that we were not getting delivery in 2022, and it looked like we were going to miss the tax credit. So…in late November, we shopped around and found a new ‘22 GT Cyber Orange, and were able to negotiate a $13K ADM down to about $2K over MSRP and purchased it (‘22 still eligible for tax credit). We then cancelled the ‘23 CR1 order (dealer refunded deposit). The ‘23 CR1 was delivered to the dealer on January 5, 2023, and we saw it sitting on the lot…for the past month when we passed by…with an ADM to $71K on their website. We had been considering buying a Tesla (due to recent price reduction) to replace my car, but when Ford dropped the price $5900 on the CR1 last week, I thought about that CR1 sitting on the dealer’s lot.
Friday evening, we bought “our” CR1 at the new MSRP from great dealer in a very straightforward negotiation (without a bunch of add-on “dealer fees”). I drove it home Friday nite, checked this forum, and found out it was now eligible for the tax credit, too.
I’d file this under: “It’s better to be lucky than good.”
