Driving to Trucker California - chip is low down on front window - at about 2 o’clock - when sitting in driver’s seat - it is in the lower potion on the window in the area where you see the hood and not the road. The chip repair places never make the chip fully go away. But replacing the entire window invites a bad insert. Thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. MY poor FE!

If you end up replacing the windshield then your dealer will have to recalibrate the forward camera system so keep that in mind.

My windshield cracked on the 3rd day. Still waiting for the replacement which is on order. I am planning on having the dealer install the glass and recalibrate the cameras.

Check your insurance company. Many will cover rock chip fills for free to avoid big broken windscreens. Get it done fast before it spreads. You can always replace the windshield down the road if you want.

Yes - unfortunately I’ve been there, done that - more than once . Advantages are no co-pay, stops the spread of the crack and quickly done. Disadvantage - you can still see it - sigh.

Yep - this will be my approach. Just wish it could make it invisible. :(
