Is this a new Ford app “feature”? The Home Screen has a persistent, non-dismissable banner nagging me to set up phone as a key.

(I’ve tried that feature, it’s cool, but I dislike that my car wakes up every time I walk by it in the garage, which is often. Sticking with just a fob negates this issue.)

Tapping the banner opens up a smaller window to “pair device” or “not now”. Tapping not now does nothing to get rid of the giant banner on the home page. Sincerely hope this is a server side bug.

The message has always been there, but it was farther down and not taking up so much space.
Is PAAK working now? A problem has existed for at least two months. I tried to re-enable it last week without success.

In general, I have had PAAK off because I was having problems with it and the FOB is fine for me, but a few days ago I decided to try it again. I found a problem where on my Android Phone that the setting for running in the background was set to "optimize for use" instead of "always allow". Once I set that correctly it has been working for me.

I do notice more delay than with the FOB at times. Like I press the door button, and it doesn't pop up open for a second or two. Enough that if I'm impatient I can hit the button again. But if I just wait it does open on the first try and for all other things it seems to be working fine.

PAAK is one of the things that you have a large group of people that say it works great for them, and another group where it doesn't. I think it has a lot to do with the phone used.

I'll look at that setting tomorrow.

I have used PAAK when I don't want the extra weight of the fob in my purse. I really don't care for its inconsistency, though. The obnoxious banner needs to go away. I don't plan to set it up again unless they add an option to toggle it on and off. I hate the way it kills my phone battery.

Have you tried clicking the notification, start the setup and then quit the app and reopen it?
