I will start off by stating up front that I am an established road tripper in our Mach-E I usually always use the Ford Connected navigation, in combination with some advanced planning double checking the recommended charging stations and routes. In two years of ownership inhabe done 18,000 miles in road trips, and have driven in or through 11 different states.

With that said today I ran into a strange quirk. Pre-planning through the Ford Pass app, I was able to replace an incorrectly choosen level 2 charger for our trip and select a relatively new EA station that was directly on the way. But inside the car, it would not let me select that station. The in-car navigation kept trying to route 30 miles out of the way to a level 2 station. The EA Station was directly on the route to our destination. I decided to add the EA station as a manual way point (but even then it would not find it by using the Charging stations search on the way point finder) so I had to type in the station address manually, which then it said at that location there was a charging station with 4 outlets, but it wouldn't recognize it as a spot to charge so it kept trying to add more stations to get there.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Okay was able to get a photo of the strange logic happening here, below is the “fast” route Ford Connected Navigation is trying to force. There is an EA charger located right where I put the blue arrow that is in Ford Blue Oval Charging Network. And if I manually put the address of the charging station there and go up the toll road on the east side of Austin it cuts almost two (2) hours out of the “fast” route it planned. Something is definitely up with the logic for this area @Ford Motor Company

Be sure to go into your navigation settings and see if it is set to avoid toll roads

I checked all of that, we have toll roads enabled, highways, and all. Good thinking though that was like my first thought.

It might have been seeing heavy traffic and rerouting because of that. Or there is a messed up speed limit on one of the smaller roads so it thinks it will take forever.
