After reading a few posts here about dead 12v batteries I decided to test using the cables in the front bumper to release the frunk latch. First I tried a 12v power supply I have. That didn't work, but the power supply is low amperage, so I tried my battery charger next. Hooked up as instructed in the owner's manual. That didn't work either. The fuses in each cable visually are good. Any suggestions?

Thanks Gary,

That makes sense, suprising compared to some of the other details on the car [which I love BTW].
I guess the only way to test it is to disconnect the battery cable?

I don’t think that will work either because it would be an open circuit. People tested the bumper jumpers early in 2021 when there were battery issues with the cars. They even found that while 9v won’t open it, 8 AA batteries in series (12v) will.
