Google Maps really this much better than built-in Nav?

You can't run Ford nav and Google nav at the same time. It makes you cancel one before allowing the other to start.

I'll play with this this weekend. If you start an Apple Maps navigation in CarPlay, it will say "sync route cancelled" on Ford Nav and instead show you CarPlay turn-by-turn. But, I think you can then *restart* a navigation in Ford Nav, and it doesn't cancel the CarPlay navigation. So, I think you *can* have both running, e.g. if you want to use Ford Nav to precondition.

Certainly another way to do it is to not use CarPlay, and just connect to your phone using normal old-school bluetooth protocol. But that's not really useful, kind of defeats the purpose.
