Green Bay Wisconsin EA status

Via Plugshare report(s), ( Meijer Howard (Coming Soon) | Green Bay, WI | EV Station (plugshare.com) ) the sad story of this station is due to an outside contractor that EA hired to finalize the work. The power company-Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) stated they are on stand-by ready to energize this location once these contractors finalize their work. WPS stated these contractors are out of state and won't return to this location for two weeks! Those Tesla adaptors can not arrive soon enough.

Wow, kudos to John on PlugShare (whoever he is) for doing some digging on this.

Sounds like the outside contractors are the ones doing a bad job and then trying to blame the utility for their incompetence. And EA believed the BS. EA needs an independent set of eyes on site so they can actually see what's happening or not happening. Relaying on 3rd parties to do the work and self-report is a bad strategy.

This is probably one of the most dysfunctional EA installs ever. Construction started 16 months ago and the station is still not online.

And to summarize, it's very likely this station has been offline for a whole year over something as simple as a wire that wasn't installed. It could probably be fixed and put online in less than a day if competent persons were involved.

EA stated the Oak Creek (Milwaukee) location is open two days ago. It is not via Plug Share users. Was this mis information directly related to independent contractors not telling the truth?

More information has bern posted on this station. In short. EA has a major issue with this outside contractor who is likely lying. Federal officials need to get involved.

The latest report is WPS is going to be at this site on Friday, to lay the cable and to energize the site! Yes, turn on the power. This information came from WPS and not EA. A number of messages via Facebook and the website were being sent to EA about this site in many negative ways. Check the site Friday afternoon for an update.

Surprise! EA contacted WPS and stated "we need to move the date to Monday 12-18-2023". No power up this Friday. Based upon EA history on this location one can only hope for a Christmas wish. Story is on Plugshare.

Still not open. Contractors were on site this week. Photos taken of the individual chargers glowing green but still not open. This is all on EA and not the power company who has completed all needed work.

Today-January 5, 2024 EA replied back to me and stated this station would open next week. We will have to see how truthful this is.

I own a retirement home in northern Wisconsin. I am a native of the Badger state. I have been traveling into and out of Wisconsin 3-5x a year for many years.

My sister is north of Rice Lake. I was thinking about driving up there this summer. Not many chargers up that way.

Your in luck with the drive along I-94 having plenty of CCS chargers and/or Tesla NACS. Going off I-94 it becomes more challenging

Got a photo of all six charging stalls lighted up but no user reports that charging actually works. The Electrify America website and Facebook sit do not mention/list as the station is now open.

Bingo! The EA app shows 5 of 6 charging stalls are now powered on.
